Potfest at Scone Palace 12th – 14th June and Potfest in the Park 24th – 26th July!

I’m delighted to announce that after missing out on doing Potfest at Scone palace last year, due to having surgery on both my hands, this year I will be back again! Not only will I be back, but I’m also bringing my new collection of work, ‘Swirls and Eddies’, which I have developed over the past year. So come along to Scone Palace, 12th – 14th June 2020, to say hello and have a look!

In addition to all things pottery related, with a huge range of wonderful work on display, regular demonstrations throughout the day, free hands-on activities for the children, and pottery supply stalls, there is of course the magnificent Scone Palace itself, as well as the beautiful grounds and gardens.

As if being back at Potfest Scotland wasn’t enough, I also got accepted into Potfest in the Park at Hutton-in-the-Forest, Cumbria (24th – 26th July) this year, and I’m so excited! So if Potfest Scotland is too far away for you, and you’ve not had the chance to see my work before, put the date in your diary now! Not only will there be a wonderful mix of pottery and potters, but with its historic house, walled garden, topiary terraces and woodland walks it makes a fantastic day out.

New work in galleries!

After a year of not being able to make work, due to having surgery on both my hands, I am now very pleased to say I’m back to making again.

I delivered a big box of my seashell dishes plus a number of pieces from my new range ‘Swirls, Eddies and Tidal Pools’ to the lovely Pretty Fly gallery in Broughty Ferry a couple of weeks ago. Today I dropped off a selection of water-etched vessels and light pieces to another wonderful gallery, The Frames Gallery, in Perth, just in time for their winter show opening!

Potest in Scone Palace (8-10 June 2018)

Potfest is coming to Scotland again on 8 to 12 June in Scone Palace near Perth. This is a fantastic venue with an incredible range of ceramics on display for you to browse and even purchase. I am busy making more pieces – not long now! Hope to see you there.

Exhibition in The Barn at Mains of Rattray

You are invited to a wee show I am doing with eight other artists at the Mains of Rattray, near Alyth.

The show will be on Saturday 4th November (10.30 am – 4.30pm) and Sunday 5th November (10.30 am – 4pm).

Come along and meet the artists, and browse a wide selection of unique hand made goodies. There will be ceramics (both functional and sculptural), hand made soaps, quiltmaking, paintings, stained glass and porcelain and silver jewellery. In addition to our usual range of work, there will also be Christmas ornaments and decorations. It’s a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping, whilst enjoying a mug of mulled wine or mulled apple juice and some scrummy cake.

Directions: From Blairgowrie, take the A926 towards Alyth. Approx 1 mile after Rattray, turning will be signed on the right. From Alyth, take the A926 towards Blairgowrie, turning will be signed on left approx 3 miles after New Alyth. Follow signs to venue. (A postcode is useless, as you will be taken on a magical mystery tour of the nearby fields!).

I hope to see you there, and please feel free to invite friends or family!

The ‘C’ word

I apologise, but I am about to use the ‘C’ word. Yes, that’s right, Christmas is a-coming, and I am busy, busy, busy in my studio making stock!

So if you are a gallery wanting to order more stock, or someone wanting to order a present for Christmas, please form an orderly queue and make sure to get your order in as soon as possible. If you contact me in November, I shall just laugh. Hysterically!

Perthshire Open Studios

Thank you so much to everyone who have visited us at the Perthshire Open Studios over the past nine days, and especially to the extraordinary number of people who braved the weather to come out and see us today! It’s been a fabulous week, and I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing such a great venue with seven such lovely artists.

Potfest orders

Thank you to everybody who visited my stand at Potfest! It was a great weekend (despite the drizzle) and it was lovely to meet you all.

If you placed an order with me by e-mail please could you re-send it, as technical problems mean it may not have reached me. Thank you!

Potfest at Scone Palace is on THIS WEEKEND

Did you love the ‘Great Pottery Throw Down’? Well, if you are in Scotland this weekend, here’s your chance to get your pottery fix! Potfest at Scone Palace is on THIS WEEKEND, and let me tell you, it’s my favourite show of the year.
Why? Well, firstly the location is unbeatable. Potfest is set in the grounds of the magnificent Scone Palace, just outside Perth. Several marquees are set up with potters and pottery suppliers selling their wares, against a backdrop of the stunning palace garden grounds with peacocks wandering about.
It’s a wonderful day out for all the family, and not only can you buy pots from the people who actually make them, and learn more about how they are made, there are also demonstrations by various potters throughout the weekend. You also have a chance to try your hand at throwing pots on the potter’s wheel, and a children’s area where they can make their own unique clay creations!
When you have had your fill of all things potty, you can have a walk in the wonderful garden grounds, or visit the palace. Why not bring a picnic, or maybe have a cream tea in the lovely palace tearooms?
Please remember not all potters have credit card machines, so remember to bring cash or your cheque book.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
